After negotiating with Ms. Tatham for the rights to the characters, Western Publishing continued the series using a number of authors with the pseudonym, Kathryn Kenny. Between 1961 and 1965 an additional nine books were released. These first fifteen, often considered the original or "real" Trixies are the books that I read as a child. That I read over and over and over again, until I could recite them verbatim.

While obviously, my obsession with Trixie Belden was short-lived (it wasn't long before I became more interested in things like boys and the Beatles), I never forgot her either, much like a dear friend that moved away whom I occasionally thought about or was reminded of. AND I never, never forgot the excitement I felt or the lessons I'd learned from reading those books.
